The connections between politics and crime stretch very far.
That the world of politics has very strong ties with the underworld isn't going to surprise anyone. And that's the story told in Broken City, starring Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones, The plot tells a story of gangsters and corrupt politicians set in modern-day New York.
In Broken City, private detective Billy Taggar (Mark Wahlberg) tries to survive, after having been expelled from the police force in New York after a scandal over an unfortunate shooting. But just when things seem to improve, as his last client is none other than the mayor of New York, Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe), the events of the plot will return his life back to the horrors of reality.
Because Billy soon realizes that he is just a pawn in a much more complicated game, when he's asked to investigate the mayor's wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) in search of a possible infidelity, and when he discover's the body of her lover, he also finds the first part of a plot that involves the worlds of crime, politics and business.
